We had a pretty laid back week here at the lodge, only 13 fishermen/women at the lodge but they were very active and kept our guides busy.
It was a windy week but thanks to our many different locations, some of them well protected from the winds, it did not affect fishing success too much. The water tables are still very low in some of our waters, while others came up quite a bit. We have the pleasure of welcoming Petr Durdik to our Trophy Club, he caught an awesome 105 cm Trophy Pike.
We did a fly out as well as an ATV trip (overnight) to our new pike destination and caught a lot of hard fighting, healthy pike, lots of them very close to the trophy mark. All our other pike destination were very productive too.
Awesome Grayling fishing in most of our rivers, especially Dezadeash River was red hot.
The lake trout are still in the shallow parts of the lakes and we can target them flatlining, lots of fun!! We found a new spot in one of the big lakes that offered non-stop action; we even had some triple headers and all good sized trout, up to 97 cm. We expect them to move into deeper water within the next couple of weeks, because the water temperatures will be rising with the warmer weather in the forecast.
All is good here at Dalton Trail Lodge, we are looking forward to a very busy next week.
