2024 September

Our 2024 season and has come to and end and it was a fabulous year!

October came fast, we stayed open until the very end of September. Fishing was super-hot right till the end. As winter gets near and temperatures drop the fish tend to get super aggressive as they work to fatten up for the winter.

We had a warm fall, usually we get a bit of snow during the last month but this year it stayed mild all month. If it does snow it melts within hours but it also gets the fish extra excited because they feel winter is coming.

Once again, we landed a load of trophy fish, we would like to welcome the following people into our Trophy Club:

Tim 101cm Lake Trout, John 103 + 105cm Lake Trout, Thomas 105cm Lake Trout, Vince 49cm Grayling, Robert 103cm Lake Trout, Jim 101cm Lake Tourt and Jay 100cm Lake Trout.

We have some big news this fall. After many years of low numbers and closed rivers systems the Coho salmon are back! Thomas caught 15 silvers in one day and probably lost as many. Anyone interested in some Coho action, please look at the very end of September. Of course we don’t know if there will be as many again next fall – but there are always plenty of other options that time of the year.

At the end of the summer the Lake Trout go into shallow waters to spawn. After spawning they feed aggressively on whitefish in shallow waters, making them easily accessible for fly and spin fishing.  The Grayling fishing in the river systems was world class as it always is in the fall. One of our clients landed one of the heaviest Rainbow Trout that we have ever seen.

Northern lights were absolutely stunning this fall! On some of the nights the entire sky was lit up with the most beautiful colors imaginable. Since the Yukon has almost all-day Sunlight in the first months of our season you wont see them before the middle of August.

We would like to thank our amazing team for everything they do for the lodge and us, we truly couldn’t do it without them!

Keep an eye on our media platforms for more updates and info!

Have a great winter and hopefully we will see you next year in the Yukon!
