2017— Week 28

We had another great week of fishing with good weather as well! We brought guests to many different locations all week and were rewarded with a variety of successful fishing.

On top of that we would like to welcome some new members into our Trophy clubs. Allan Volts got an awesome 101cm Trophy Lake Trout. Bill West caught two amazing Pike Trophies that measured 117 and 106cm. Aurel Baumann landed a beautiful Trophy Pike that measured 116cm! Some monster Pike this week, congratulations and welcome to the Trophy Club.

Grayling fishing was good again this week. They were active on both the fly and spin casting. We had some clients that solely fly fished and they were able to land many good sized Grayling, Lake Trout and Pike as well as some Rainbow Trout.

Kokanee fishing this year has been slower than other years. Although we do not target this species there are times when they seem abundant and they take our lures when we are going for Lake Trout.

On top of all the great fishing we had a couple groups of people that were here only to hike and see the sights and enjoy the pristine Yukon wilderness. We offer an eco-package for anyone interested in experiencing the Yukon in other ways than fishing. Very near to our lodge there are a bunch of hiking trails that head into Kluane National Park. These trails go from easy gradual hikes into hidden away lakes to steep inclines up the mountains where from the top you can see many different lakes and other surrounding mountains. One family even hiked into one of our outpost cabins and spent the night there. In the morning they tried a bit of fishing and discovered how fun it can be.

Things are going great and we are all looking forward to more awesome fishing and good times to come.
