2016— Week 37

We had another awesome week; fishing has been great as always. On one of our overnight trips our guests were able to land an unbelievable amount of Lake Trout as well as two huge Pike the measured 100cm.

Since the Lake Trout have gone into spawn we are now catching them in different places. They are very active and our clients landed many nice sized fish.

Grayling and Rainbow Trout fishing have been very productive. We had good action on dry flies, streamers, nymphs and small spinners and lures.

The Pike are still as aggressive as ever.

We did some of our first hunting trips for Ptarmigan and Grouse and it was very successful. Some of our long time clients and friends even did a little playing around and practiced the Standard Austrian Field Position. On some of the days out hunting our guides even cooked the birds on the side of the mountain. We have a delicious wine and cream reduction recipe that everyone loves!

For the past two weeks we have had many of our return clients that come almost every year. It is always good to see familiar faces and old friends. At the end of the week 17 of our guests got together for a big cook off at Kathleen Lake to say goodbye to each other till next time. Before lunch we had a little shooting competition, the champion is Robi Spieser!

Although we had a bit of wind this week we also had a lot of sunny days and we were able to send our clients too many different destinations. Fall is in the air and things are going great here at the lodge.
