2016— Week 28

Everything has been awesome here at the lodge. Fishing and weather were both great with many wind free sunny days. Many of our fly fishing clients took full advantage and spent many hours out casting their lines.

This week we got a lot of very big fish and one huge Pike, congratulations to Herbert Andermatt for catching a 105cm Pike. We took out Heather and Lorraine to a nearby lake in Kluanee National Park and they had an amazing day fishing. They landed a lot of Grayling, Lake Trout as well as the biggest Rainbow trout that we have seen. It measured 56cm which is awesome since they don’t usually grow that big in our systems but they also landed a 53cm and 55cm Rainbow on the same trip. They had a blast enjoying the sun and were even able to land some land locked Kokanee salmon as well.

Pike fishing was as sensational as usual. These fish have been very active and our guests caught many fish close to the trophy mark.

Grayling fishing was excellent as well and many were caught on dry flies. Small Spinners were working great as well. When there is a fly hatch these fish go crazy and our guests catch amazing amount of fish. Not only numbers but also good sized Grayling as well.

We have already tried for the Salmon and got a few Sockeye and Jan caught the first King Salmon. This seems to be a late run and numbers are expected to go up.

All is great and we are looking forward for the weeks to come.
