2014— Week 28

It has been a very successful fishing week with a lot of big fish being caught. We are pleased to welcome the following fishermen to our Lake Trout Trophy Club: Marcel Chartrand (105 cm), Shaun Chartrand (101 cm), Joachim Eilts (104 cm) and last but not least Marc Robinet (100 cm). Congratulation to all of you and great job!

It is needless to say that Lake Trout fishing was excellent everywhere we fished. The water temperature is about ideal right now to catch these beautiful fish. Like the last weeks our guests landed besides the Trophies several big fish in the 90 cm range. Some days we had troubles to get smaller fish for a shore lunch – a nice problem to have though.

Pike fishing was also great and we had fantastic action on surface lures. Our guests not only caught numbers but also quality with fish up to 100 cm.

Fishing for Rainbow Trout was great as well. Although the water levels in the rivers are high we still did very well. The fish were harder to find and they seemed to prefer slower moving sections in the rivers.

Grayling fishing was excellent and many were caught on dry flies. Small Spinners were working great as well.

We also had good action fishing for King Salmon. Not any big fish yet but good numbers. It seems that the run is looking good and above average. It is nice to see healthy numbers.

The only downside this week was the weather. We mainly experienced a mix of sun and clouds with strong winds from the South. Towards the end of the week it became really windy with gusts up to 60 km/h. It made fishing a real challenge but we still caught fish. This is the nice thing here, even it bad conditions we can always find places to fish and to catch.
