2019 - Week 33

We had a beautiful week with perfect fishing conditions, not too hot, no wind, just perfect.

We don’t think that we ever had such a long period of awesome weather, simply amazing.

This week was mostly about fly fishing, we had the Paul Serveau group with us, our good friends from Ontario, as well as the Dittrich family from Germany. They took full advantage of the conditions and landed lots of good fish on dry flies as well as streamers.

Our home lake offered exceptional conditions for pike, grayling and lake trout fishing. All our rivers are very low now and fly fishing as well as ultralight spin casting are producing lots of good fish.

We had many trips with more than 100 fish caught, some of them very close to the trophy mark. Dietmar fished the new pike lake and caught 21 pike up to 40 inches and 1 lake trout, not a bad day of fishing!

Since we had mostly fly fishermen at the lodge, we did not fish the big lake this week but are looking forward to go back there early next week. Saturday brought the first snow to our mountain tops – autumn is just around the corner. The lake trout should start to show up in the shallower areas of the lakes soon and entering our rivers for spawning.
