September is here! This is one of the most beautiful months of the year in the Yukon!
Temperatures stayed cool but were still warmer then usual. The fish were super active. Water levels have started to go down and the Lake Trout are moving to the shallows to spawn. After a summer of feeding, all the fish are nice and fat. Our guests landed some amazing fish including lots of Trophies, pike, lake trout and beautiful Arctic Grayling. We have the pleasure of welcoming the following people to out Trophy Club:
Sachin Lake Trout 107cm, Luc Lake Trout 107cm, Alwyn Lake Trout 104cm, all beautiful big fish!
The days are getting shorter and the nights are getting longer. This allowed us to see the Northern Lights for the first time. Beautiful colors of green, blue and purple that streaked all across the sky above the lodge. As the days fly by the nights get darker and the lights are more and more visible.
Although a little later then usual the leaves have started to change! For now, we are seeing beautiful yellows and orange crawling across the mountains, soon these will be intense shades of Red, Orange and Yellow. It can truly be breathtaking watching the change and seeing the bright colors of fall.
With only two more weeks of the season to go we are expecting some amazing fishing. Before winter settles in the fish get super active because they are getting ready for the long dark months to come. One more news report to come and we will be saying bye for another year!
