June was an awesome fish filled month!
Our season is now well underway with many happy guests. As always, in the Spring our water levels are low until it starts to really warm up in the mountains. While it stayed that way for the first couple of weeks the bigger fish hang out in the shallow water. This allows for some hot action on the fly and Spin casting.
When the water levels are low like this, we are unable to launch our jet boat on our main river system so we keep it tied up down river and ride in the side by side to get there. Towards the end of the month, we were able to pull it back out and can now access it with a short drive from the lodge.
We didn’t get access to Mush Lake until the third week of June. Once we could get in, we set up the boat and sent many successful trips there. This destination is a hot spot for Grayling and Lake Trout.
Our guests landed some awesome trophy fish during June. We would like to welcome the following people to our trophy club:

We added a new big boat to our fleet. The Vogellisi is a 22foot Searunner Hewes Craft with a 200hp engine. This boat is going to be awesome for the big lakes including our trip to one of our outpost cabins where we have already been very successful this month.
By the end of the month, we had some really nice weather. The warm weather brought up the water levels so we changed our fishing tactics to mirror the change. Summer solstice is on June 21st, during the weeks around this day the sun is shining almost all day long and guests were fishing long after supper time. We expect to have more beautiful Yukon experiences and awesome fishing in the month to come!
