Our 2023 season is under way and what an amazing beginning we have had. We had a chilly end of May but as soon as June came the sun got nice and warm and the waters warmed up as well.
Fishing has been very good from the get-go, with many lake trout and pike close to the trophy mark. Thadaeus landed a beautiful trophy Lake Trout that just hit the 100cm mark. Grayling and Rainbow Trout fishing was amazing, our clients were very successful, be that fly fishing or spin casting. Water levels are still a bit low, offering fantastic river fishing. We certainly could need some rain here in the Yukon but the forecast shows more beautiful, sunny weather with comfortable temperatures in the low 20s.
Currently we have the first overnight trip on the way, the first report we received via satellite phone is very promising. Details will follow in our next report.
All but one of your staff have returned for another season. We have new guide, Colin, who has already proven to be an awesome part of our team. We welcomed many old friends back to the lodge these past two weeks and met some great new ones! The season is going to be a busy one and we are all looking forward to ensuring everyone has a wonderful stay and they get the best of their Yukon visit.
