2017— Week 32

The weather this week was unbelievable, as was the fishing! Every day was sunny and warm and many of them wind calm as well.

We have the pleasure of welcoming two people into our Trophy Club this week. Doug MacDonald caught an awesome 103cm Lake Trout and his Dad Russell caught a massive 110 Lake Trout! Welcome to the Club guys!

Our guests found the first King Boletus, this mushroom is wonderful to eat and also to dry and bring home for later consumption. We had a couple of groups at the lodge that enjoyed the great hiking opportunities in and around Kluane National Park. While out they also did a bit of fishing in some very, very remote lakes.

Our guests caught some huge Grayling this week, on both the dry fly and spin casting. While fishing the river systems our guests also caught some beautiful Rainbow Trout.

The Salmon fishing is still fairly slow so we did not do many trips this week. The water systems are still quite high but it is not affecting the fishing at all.

On a trip to our cabin at Frederik Lake it got so warm that our guests spent over two hours swimming and enjoying the sun as well as great fishing. This cabin is very remote and only reachable by ATV or helicopter.

Fishing for Grayling is world class, also great opportunities for catching Lake Trout and big Pike. Next week it is looking like it is continuing to be beautiful again and we expect the fishing to be as well.
