It has been an excellent fishing week with a total of 7 Pike Trophies being caught. We are pleased to welcome the following fishermen to our Trophy Club: Ralph Hayes (106 cm, 107 cm, 107 cm), Martin Benda (105 cm, 106 cm, 110 cm), Roman Senecky (108 cm). It is needless to say that Pike fishing was great everywhere we went.
Fishing for Lake Trout was spotty - we had fantastic days and then slow days as well. It seems that we experienced a transition period where the fish are starting to change places to go deeper and therefore they were harder to find. But fishing was still good by all means as our guests landed 5 large Lake Trout in the range of 92 cm to 95 cm plus plenty of “smaller” ones. We are probably just a little spoilt…
Grayling fishing was great with a lot of action on dry flies or smaller lures. Some water levels are still very low for this time of the year and it looks like it will not change this summer.
Fishing for Rainbow Trout was awesome on all the river systems we have fished. They are not huge fish but on light tackle a lot of fun to catch.
Our guests saw many Moose this week as well as quite a few Bears too. Besides the fishing this is also an unforgettable experience. The weather improved and it wasn’t as windy as the previous weeks. In fact we had two days without any wind at all and this was quite a treat. Temperatures finally hit the 20° Celsius mark which was pleasant too. We had a little bit of rain which helped to reduce the danger of any new forest fires. It was a great week with many happy faces!
