2019 - Week 26

We had a tropical week here in the Yukon with temperatures between 25 and 30 C.

First part of the week was still very busy. We test-fished a lake that we have not fished for at least 10 years and were very happy with the result. We caught 27 nice sized pike and two lake trout. I’m sure we’ll be back there to do more fishing/exploring.

Pike fishing was good in all other lakes too, with many nice fish around the 1-meter mark. We only did one trip to the big lake and caught more than 30 lake trout, lost a couple of big fish that could have been trophies…

Grayling fishing was awesome all week, lots of big grayling on fly rods and ultra-lights.

The second part of the week was pretty slow as far as the number of fishermen goes. Clients were more into hiking, river rafting and canoeing. We had time to go back up to Frederick Lake and worked on the new cabins.

All is good here in the Yukon, looking forward to a busy next week.
