Our 2025 Season has come to an end and we are happy to say that we once again had an awesome successful year!
Septembers stayed nice and warm, normally by the end of the month we have a few heavy frosts and we’ll see the first snowflakes. But this year it stayed nice and mild. The lakes didn’t cool down as fast as in previous years, delaying the lake trout spawning by about 7-10 days. But did we ever have some great Lake Trout fishing the last two weeks of September! After spawning the big Lakers chased Whitefish in 5-10 feet of water, our guests were able to catch trophies on flies, some of them even with surface flies!
We have the privilege of welcoming some new and old members to our Trophy Clubs:
Cody caught a Grayling Trophy that measured 48.5cm, Jacek got a 113cm Trophy Pike, Bryan landed 103cm Lake Trout Trophy, Steve got a massive 110cm Lake Trout, Thomas caught a 105cm Lake Trout Trophy and Gaudenz landed a 111cm Trophy Lake Trout. Awesome fishing and welcome to the Trophy Club! Another honorable mention: While fishing on the river system nearby Rolf landed an 85cm Lake Trout! This is quite large compared to the average trout in that river system.
We had guests go to all three of our outpost cabins this month. These trips are especially unique as you travel out into the wilderness with your guide to very secluded areas where you can enjoy the peace and quiet of having that entire area to yourself. While there the guide cooks your meals over a fire and set up camp for a comfortable night away from the lodge. One of these destinations is a 3-hour ATV ride deep into the wilderness where we have two cabins situated on the river system draining into Dezadeash, this trip is for ATV enthusiast only and is truly a rewarding journey.
September is known for its Northern Lights, Changing Leaves and World Class fishing and this year did not disappoint! The nights get longer and cooler and with it the Northern Lights become visible, many guests set their alarms to wake up during the night to peak out side for a chance to see the sky light up in a beautiful array of colors. As the days get cooler the leaves start to change to orange and red and yellow. As far as the eye can see the Yukon becomes a canvas of art.
For the second year in a row, we had a fantastic run of Coho salmon in the Tatshenshini/Klukshu rivers. They counted more than 10,000 fish entering the Klukshu river alone. Our guests were very successful, catching double digits numbers daily, either fly fishing or using hardware.
We would like to take this chance to thank our amazing team for everything that you do for us! We could not do it without you and are lucky to have such a perfect team.
All in all, we had fantastic year and are looking forward to many more to come!
If you have not book with us yet do so soon!
