2018— Week 28

Summer has arrived in the Yukon, what a week we had! Temperatures close to 30 C and no wind at all. Our clients could fish our home lake all week long and had great success, catching lots of lake trout, grayling and pike. Great conditions for fishing in all our lakes and rivers, with the exception of one lake, that had very high water because of snow melt in the surrounding high mountains.

One of our clients caught a small lake trout in a mountain lake. Just before he could land the fish, a big pike was attacking and biting into the lake trout and would not let go till the guide could net both fish!! It was a big and fat pike over 100 cm long and the whole scene was recorded on video. Plenty of action again in our other pike lake with lots of big fish around the 100 cm mark.

Lake trout fishing was awesome too; we would like to welcome the following new members into our lake trout trophy club: Ira Sacker caught a awesome 105 cm fish, his Grandson Dylan caught an equally beautiful Trout that was 105cm as well. Thomas Class got one that was 101 cm and Heinz Stoff got a 102 cm Trophy. At the end of the week Roland Brunner got a 101.5cm Laker. Welcome to the club guys!

Everything is great here at the lodge, hopefully the beautiful weather and awesome fishing will stay with us for a while longer...
