2018— Week 23

Things are going good at the lodge; we had a very successful week. The fish are very active as they usually are right after the ice goes off the lakes.

All the waters are open now but we did had to push our way through some ice to get to our outpost cabin. The weather has been nice, a bit cool in the evening but it is warming up more and more every day.

We have the pleasure of welcoming the first guests to the Trophy Club this season; Ralph Hayes caught a beautiful Pike that measured 114cm. On this same trip Bob Norgard caught an impressive 115cm Pike, welcome to the 2018 Club! At our new destination our guests were catching non-stop nice sized Pike. Since it is such a remote location they are not accustomed to being fished and there was crazy action.

The Grayling are in the river systems and fly fishing for them has been really good, with some that were very close to the Trophy line. The water has come up enough on the river to run the jet boat down there were lots of Grayling and we are catching more and more Rainbow Trout every day. Everything is going awesome and the fish are biting everywhere!
