2017— Week 36

We had a good week at the lodge, the fishing was awesome. Our guests did have to deal with quite a bit of wind though. This did not keep them from going out and catching the big ones.

This week we would like to welcome two new members to our Trophy Clubs. Julius Pruger caught an awesome Grayling that measured 48cm. Tomas Kupec caught a huge Lake Trout Trophy that measured 104cm, good job guys and welcome to the club!

The evenings have been a little cooler and the water levels are starting to go down again. The Lake Trout have now moved into the river systems.

Rainbow Trout fishing was great as these fish follow the spawning Whitefish and Lake Trout into the rivers.

Pike fishing has been very productive, our guests landed many nice sized fish that just missed the Trophy Mark..

On one of the days this week the wind was so strong we had 50km an hour gusts! Everyone was safe and still enjoyed the fishing in many of our destinations that are protected from the wind.

Our bigger Hewes Crafts Boats can be safely used to fish on even our biggest lakes that we go to. Because of all the wind this week fly fishing with dry flies was very difficult. We did not do any trips to the coast this week due to the wind and weather but it is scheduled to happen next week.

The forecast looks like the wind should calm down and nice weather is on the way. Only a few more weeks left until the end of the season!
