2016— Week 39

The last week in our 2016 season was sensational! There were some very windy days in the beginning of the week but by the end it was calm and we sent a group to our outpost destination where we get most of our Trophy Pike and Lake Trout. It was a very successful trip; the guests caught an amazing number of fish while there including 5 Trophies!

Congratulation to Markus Brawand for landed two massive Trophy Lake Trout that measured 102 cm and 110 cm. Michael Maissen landed not one but 3 Trophy Pike, they measured 105cm, 108 cm and an impressive 115cm. Welcome to the Trophy Club Michael and Markus.

In the middle of the week we were able to send another group to our Salmon fishing destination on the Coast of Alaska. Although they caught more fish than last week the numbers were still lower than anticipated. The silver torpedoes that they caught were mostly large males that put up a great fight on fly and spinning rods.

Our guests also did some fly fishing on the river and caught good numbers of Grayling and Rainbow Trout. The fish were active to both streamers and dry flies. Considering we only had 5 guests all week it has been an adventurous one none the less.

They also went out bird hunting with the ATVs and got some Ptarmigan that they had for lunch while on the mountain side.

Over the next week we will be closing things down and preparing everything for the long winter ahead. Thank you to all of our guests and staff for a wonderful season!
