2010— Week 37

Our guests experienced a fantastic fishing week with the most beautiful Indian Summer weather. Fishing doesn’t get much better with a total of 13 Trophies being caught! After Otmar Staggl caught his first Trophy in many years last week he landed another Trophy fish, a Pike of 108 cm during this week. Markus Kocher caught not only two Trophy Pike in one day but also a Trophy Lake Trout of 102 cm. The following anglers also caught many Trophy Pike: Arno Anderegg (111 cm, 108 cm), Peter Nuesch (115 cm, 106 cm), Michael Winter (109 cm, 105 cm), Katrin Zimmer (107 cm, 105 cm), Tobias Kraechan (106 cm). We would like to welcome them to our Trophy Club and congratulations to all of you! We did many fly out trips to the coast of Alaska for Silver Salmon. There were a lot of Silvers in the river but they were not always easy to catch. The reason was the beautiful weather and the sunshine which made them quite spooky. But the fishing was still great by all means and everybody limited out. In general Lake Trout fishing was great on all the Lakes and rivers we fished. Although we caught many Trophies the Pike fishing was spotty. We had days when they were not active at all and other days where we had great action. Fishing for Grayling has slowed down on some rivers which is normal for this time of the year as they move into the Lakes for the winter. But we can still fish rivers with plenty of Grayling around. We did a couple of hunting trips for Grouse and Ptarmigan with good success. The Ptarmigan were hard to find and there are not many around this year. They have their cycles and there may be more next year. The weather was unbelievable. We had pure sunshine during the whole week and hardly any wind at all! We have never seen such a long period of nice weather in the fall on our side and on the coastal side of the mountains. Truly a great week!
