2009— Week 39

Our guests experienced excellent fishing during our last week of the season. Stefan Trottmann caught a Lake Trout of 101 cm and therefore became a new member to our Trophy Club. Congratulations and well done! Besides the Trophy there were more big fish up to 98 cm being caught. On one of our trips we had two avid fly fishermen and despite the windy conditions they managed to catch several big Lakers. They never gave up casting and were rewarded with hard fighting fish on the fly rod. Fishing in the rivers was world-class for four different species of fish. Several of our guests managed the “small grand slam” which means catching Whitefish, Lake Trout, Grayling and Rainbow Trout on the same day. For some reason we did not fish for Pike, but we are sure that we would have caught more Trophy fish. It has been an incredible season for Pike, we have never caught this many big fish. As the Pike fishing was great our efforts to fish for Lake Trout were lower than in previous years. Some of the guests enjoyed Pike fishing so much that they would not even fish for Lake Trout during some of the trips. Due to uncertain weather conditions we could not do any more fly out trips for the Silver Salmon at the coast of Alaska. This was too bad as the fishing remains great till almost middle of October. The week started with two beautiful and calm days. During the rest of the week we experienced mostly cloudy skies with occasional rain showers and mainly windy conditions. Despite the financial crisis we are looking back to a very successful season and would like to thank all the guests who stayed with us. Our new partnership with the VISION Group has proven to be a success too. All their fly-rods, waders, reels etc. were truly field-tested by our guides and guests and we are happy to provide these top quality products to our guests for the next future. Last but not least we would like to thank all our staff for their hard work during the season. We wish everybody a good winter and are looking forward to see you soon.
