2008— Week 27

A fantastic fishing week lies behind us with no less than 5 Lake Trout trophies caught! We are very pleased to welcome these fishermen to our exclusive Trophy Club: Max Staub (108 cm), Peter Pooler (101 cm), John Pooler (102 cm), Jeremy Pooler (108 cm) and John Freixinet (103 cm). Congratulations to all of them and well done! Needless to say, the fishing for Lake Trout was awesome and our guests caught many more big fish close to the trophy mark. Fishing for Grayling was also fantastic with a lot of dry fly action. One guest fished the first time with a fly and caught over 30 Grayling – not a bad start to his fly-fishing career. We did not do a lot of Pike fishing during this week but quite a few good sized Pike were caught. The Rainbow Trout fishing was very good with fish up to 45 cm. The King Salmon are now entering our local Rivers and a few were caught. It is only the beginning of the run and not many have passed the counting weir yet. Good news comes from the Sockeye Salmon. There are already a lot of fish in the pools in our nearby river in Alaska. Our guests had no problem to catch their limit of beautiful fresh Sockeye Salmon. It looks like it will be a strong run this year. We had very nice weather overall with hardly any wind at all. Only on the last day of the week the wind picked up and we experienced light rain showers. All in all a great week!
