2004 — Week 36

The weather was pretty tough this week with many cloudy and windy days. One day we had some rain which was great for the mushrooms. Because of the cool temperatures the summits of our high mountains are now covered with snow and will give sunny days spectacular contrasts of colours. Despite the tougher conditions our guests enjoyed the very good fishing and we are proud to announce a new member of our Trophy Club: Friederich Schultehinrich who landed a big Pike of 104cm! Silver Salmon fishing in Alaska is going from excellent to world class and all our guests caught their limit easily. The Sockeyes are still running strong in our nearby River in Alaska and the Silver Salmon should be there soon too. Our local Rivers saw very good action for Laketrout as well as Grayling. Needless to say that the Pike fishing remained very good. The small game hunting season opened on September 1, and our guests enjoyed eating the Grouse and Ptarmigan. One of our guests nearly managed to succeed the Grand Slam which means shooting a Rabbit and a Grouse and catching a Pike, Laketrout and Salmon all in one day. Unfortunately only the Rabbit was missing.
