2016— Week 25

Things are going great here at Dalton Trail Lodge. We had some very hot and beautiful days. We did our first outpost overnight trip to the new cabin and it was amazing. During this trip they caught over 80 Grayling, many of them close to the trophy mark, one was even 47.5cm, just half a cm short.

Fishing for big Lake Trout and Pike was a success as well with quite a few trophy sized fish being landed. Congratulations to Franz Wipfli for getting not only one trophy but three. In one overnight trip he was able to pull in two Lake Trout Trophies, one 101cm the other 102cm. He also got a Pike Trophy of 107cm!

The Rainbow Trout have been very active, many of our clients have enjoyed going on a guided Jet Boat trip for these beautiful fish.

Once again the Kokanne population is looking strong.

While fishing for Lake Trout our clients pulled out quite a few of these beautiful fish.

On June 21st we experienced summer solstice. During this time of year it stays light virtually all day. Some of our clients took advantage of this awesome spectacle by going out fishing very late into the night.

We sent out a few shore lunches this week. Our guests enjoyed either a lunch made by one of our guides or they cooked their own lunch on the shore. There is nothing quite like eating fresh fish you have caught yourself cooked over an open fire.

It looks like this beautiful weather is going to hold, we will keep our cameras ready so we can post more news and pictures next week.
